I was initially blown away by the chapter-list in the table of contents. But, once you get inside you find each chapter short, sweet and to-the-point.
What’s immediately evident is the care Steve takes in bringing the whole experience to laypersons level. No over-your-head tech-talk.
Images! Right-on. I’m glad to see Steve has included images—both color and black and white sketches—although I’d have liked to see even more. But, to be fair one assumes the owner will have his device parked in front of her as she reads through this Step by Step.
I really appreciated the section on ‘Cloud’. Steve devotes much needed guidance on the meanings and myths about Cloud.
It’s interesting to see the last chapter listed as “Tips & Tricks”—as the book’s subtitle reads—because the entire book is essentially a Tips & Tricks treasure.
I was always a bit hesitant about Fire. But, as they say fear is spawned in ignorance. Fire HD User Guide With Tips and Tricks sure gave me an education."

As a owner, it has been difficult to find reliable and concise information to take be beyond the standard tour. This is a reference I'll come back to again and again. Good tips, tricks, and very easy to read and follow. Recommended highly
This is more for new Fire HD owners than those who have had the device for a while. However found some useful trouble shooting solutions I found useful.
Whether you already have a Fire HD or just started, this book has something to offer to for everyone. The topics are right on and explained in such simplicity. It makes getting to know your or discover extra's so much fun! Though I would have liked a price indication for the monthly subscription to Free time Unlimited for Children.
I thought this was a good read, but bought another book earlier that I thought was better.I have had my kindle for about 2 1/2 years so already knew some of the tips in the book.It would be good fo a new kindle owner.
